The process of Filming my first narrative Short Film, Stay or Leave was quite an interesting process. This is a step by step process in making my Short Film, Stay or Leave.
It required a lot of planning. I wrote the Script using a screenwriting software called Final Draft, which then had undergone a lot of changes, which included a lot of drafts.
I then went on to hiring a crew. It was a small crew, a Skeleton Crew. We had a DP and Sound Recordist.
We then held Auditions for the Actors and found two talented Actors, suited for the role. We held rehearsals the day before we begin filming.
Filming the Interior scene went smoothly. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the Exterior Scene as there were really strong winds. My Sound Recordist did the best he could, however he recommended I go get the audio cleaned.
Finally we get to the post production stages! I edited and colour graded the Short Film using Davinci Resolve and hired an Sound Remixer to fix the audio, finally completing the Short Film and setting for release.
Overall, it was such a fulfilling experience making my first narrative short film. I look forward to making more Short Films like these in the future.
